Description
These Wellco boots have done some jungle stomping already but they still have some guts left. If you're looking to stomp around in wet or humid conditions, jungle boots are a fine choice. First tested in Panama, then used in WWII and most notably use during the Vietnam war where they were in their natural habitat.
These versions are post-Vietnam war and made under contract for the Brits, because their version was rubbish. These have been sized but we found that some labels in the tongue don't match the soles (surplus shoes, what can ya do?). These boots have vent holes and a breathable but strong nylon canvas upper to aid in ventilation and moisture drainage. There is also a metal shank inside the sole. No this is not a James Bond style hidden knife, it's actually for protection from bamboo stake traps or other things that could penetrate the sole. The Panama style soles allow mud to flow out the sides to stop your feet from getting sucked down further. Going for that 'nam aesthetic or after some kickers unafraid of the mud - these are a good bet. Plus, they already have the vintage weathering so no need to feel bad about treating them mean!
