Description
The ECWS (Extreme Cold Weather System) is a modular sleep system from the U.S. Military. The system is made up of 3 items - the intermediate sleeping bag, patrol bag, and bivy bag. When all 3 bags are used together they are rated for use at -40 degrees Celsius.
This is just the patrol sleeping bag which is designed for warmer temperatures, rated at +4 degrees Celsius for a comfortable sleep. A survival temperature rating would most likely be around -5°C.
This patrol bag is the lighter of the two sleeping bags from the ECWS and is intended for warmer temperatures. The double zip can be pulled from both ends, allowing ventilation from the top or bottom. An adjustable drawstring around the hood helps retain heat within the sleeping bag. The construction is a water resistant, ripstop nylon fabric. This is genuine U.S. Military surplus, so you know you're getting a high quality sleeping bag.

I have had one of these bad boys for a while now and it is my go to bag for the spring/summer months out on the field and in the bush. Both light and warm, it has a 80% length zip, which I can regulate temp quickly so as not to over heat. Its roomy enough to sleep with my boots on if I have to, but will cram down into a surprisingly small stash sack to stow in the pack. I tend to use this with the U.S issue Bivy bag - Home, sweet Home.

I've purchased two of these sleeping bags, and will get a couple more for the rest of my family. Used half a dozen times in dry tents, and have had great nights. I'm sure I'll get many many years out of these bags. Great product for great price

This arrived today, after a good look over its fantastic ! The only thing lacking is a bag to carry it in, however I have a compression sack previously ordered from army n outdoors so that will do nicely. Thanks guys , another happy customer.
