Description
Panama adopted their current flag in 1925. Initially after separating from Colombia in 1903, Panama designed a flag much closer in design to the United States (which had influenced said separation) but later chose the current one. At the time the blue represented the Conservative Party and the red represented the Liberal Party. The white was intended to represent peace. The stars represent purity and the rule of law, and the stars put together stand for the new republic.
The flag has a white strip on the side with two metal eyelets.
