Description
After gaining independence in 1917, Finland adopted their current flag in 1918. It consists of a blue Nordic cross and a white background. The blue represents the thousands of lakes in Finland and they sky. The white back background is said to reflect the snows of winter.
The flag has a white strip on the side with two metal eyelets.
