Description

The US Navy adopted the NWU Type I (Navy Working Uniform) during the late 2000's for both on and off-shore use. NWU Type I imitates the Marines and US army's digital pattern but primarily using blue and grey colours. This may blend in well with the ocean, but not on land so much - either way they are a cool looking pattern!

As you'd expect the uniform has many of the usual US military features made from a hard wearing 50/50 cotton and nylon mix. The waist is partly elasticated around the hips and has standard 2" belt loops all the way around. The fly has a zipper and a button at the top to secure them to your waist. Like all good military uniforms it has 2 slash pockets and 2 elasticated cargo pockets with a single button each. At the rear the trousers sport 2 back pockets with dual button closure. In line with the other US military branches, these uniforms offer the same quality you would expect and a funky pattern for civilian wear.

Features:

  • Genuine US Navy surplus
  • Two slash pockets
  • Two elasticated cargo pockets
  • Two Back Pockets with Button Flaps
  • Partly elasticated waist
  • Fly zipper with buttoned top
  • Belt loops with 5cm wide opening

A few things about the Blues

Firstly - I have variants from each service of US Military so I can comment with a informed view not just a google warrior.
USN Blueberry Digital
Appearance - they are much lighter on computer than in person which isnt a huge thing and if it bothers you 'toughen up'
Fit - Find them to be smaller fit than Army, USAF, USMC trousers but they are purposed differently (not just for a leisure cruise).
They have good quality Zipper fly closure (which I will not make a joke about).

Frankly they are like RAAF GPU's not designed for battle use just a working uniform that looks military so velcro and anything rubbing will probably wear them fast just be careful of that.
I also read that they arent fire retardant like other US gear, find it hard to believe but not unlikely.
I also DO NOT Suggest using these around water because its beyond me why they made a blue uniform for the navy! Dont fall over board!

Good service and the pair sent were in good condition if they had been worn, not for long and nowhere dirty.
