The bigger brother to the P-38 can opener, aka the US Army's "Greatest Invention". The P-51 increased the handle size to about twice that of its predecessor. This allows for more leverage and less thumb pressure to carve open your favourite canned meal.
The P-51 is made in the USA from cold rolled steel, stamped "US SHELBY CO". These larger can openers are included with the US military's tray rations and are also utilised in disaster relief efforts. Your emergency kit is not complete without a USGI can opener, grab one - or a few.
