Description
Here we have a genuine pair of US Army desert BDU trousers. The camouflage is known as the six-colour desert pattern, though tastefully nicknamed "Chocolate-chip" or "Cookie Dough" camouflage. Made for use in arid environments and was most notably used during the Persian Gulf War.
The Desert Battle Dress Uniform (DBDU) came to an end around the mid 1990's for the US, though the pattern is still widespread among middle eastern countries. As the United States first official desert uniform the material is surprisingly heavyweight. This was remedied in late versions or the next generation Desert Combat Uniform (DCU) which replaced these. Its not all bad though as that means they will last a lot longer! The trousers are equipped with 2 buttoned back pockets, 2 large cargo pockets and 2 waist pockets. The ankles are adjustable with a draw cord and the waistline has adjustable straps for a comfortable fit.
Although there are many copies, genuine six-colour desert uniforms are slowly getting harder to come by. A must for US collectors or a hard wearing set of trousers for airsofters/paintballers, don't let these pass you by.
