Description

Old school wool goodness from the German Army, made in the Netherlands (GEKOLONISEERD) and ready to keep you warm. Blijvend Motecht Mitin tags on these date from the 50's onwards and feel like propper job wool. Not the finest, softest in feel but the stuff that will keep you warm. The tube is sealed at both ends so can't be used as a headover/neck gaiter but there's enough length to tuck into outer layers, plus the tube design creates a double layering of insulation. Be prepared for those cold days and stash one with your kit.

Features:

  • Genuine German Army surplus
  • Double layered design for extra warmth
  • Woolen construction

Excellent Scarf/cap comforter?

As described, excellent. I bought two and both were like new (old stock).100% high quality wool and softer than I had expected. A closed ended tube scarf of this vintage and at this shorter length, indicate use as a cap comforter. Push one closed end back into the scarf, like a sock puppet, and wear as a watch cap. Roll up to adjust and tuck in the excess at the top. These work perfectly, and so to my mind this item is a useful short scarf, and dual duty wool cap. I'm pretty sure they are vintage Cap comforters, either way an excellent buy!
